Horseball Tournament

Ranger Service Guided Walk - Notable Women of Weston-super-Mare
Sunday 5 September walk starts promptly at 2pm and lasts approximately 2½ hours
Meet in Bristol Road Lower at the top gates of Milton Road Cemetery, Weston-super-Mare


This walk is a celebration of women who have Weston-super-Mare connections noteworthy in literature, science, Women's Rights, music, art, Egyptology and philosophy.


Charge of £3 per person.  Steep gradients on tarmac and steps.  Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for terrain and weather conditions.  Please do not bring dogs on the walk. For more details: Tourist Information Centre 01934 888 800


Frankie Howerd's Classic Vehicle Run

Weston-super-Mare (Beach Lawns)


The rally starts from Bath via Cheddar to Weston-super-Mare.  After lunch the classic cars will call into Wavering Down (Frankie Howerd's former home) before finishing at Puxton Park.  Proceeds shared between the Children's Hospice South West and the Frankie Howerd OBE Trust charities.

Summer Reading Challenge – Space Hop
Until Sunday 19 September 2010


Parents and carers can take their children between the ages of four and 12 to join the Space Hop reading challenge at their local library. 


The challenge is for children to read six or more books. Children can choose anything to read from the thousands of books held in their local libraries. As they progress through the challenge, each participating child will receive a moving image card, a bookmark, a poster with nine stickers to collect, a glow-in-the-dark mobile spinner and a rainbow pencil. Every child, who completes the challenge, receives a medal and a certificate. Taking part is free.
